Max Mara has been at the top of haute couture for over 50 years and was set up by the late Achille Maramotti but is now run and owned by Luigi, Ignacio and Ludovica, his children. MaxMara is the best known label, but there's also Sportmax, Max & Co and Marina Rinaldi, set up as diversion lines to express other Max Mara personalities. The Maramotti fmaily have a keen interest in the arts and are active patrons of the arts, which is often reflected in their designs. MaxMara is now an Italian family business that has become global, with 2,254 stores in 90 countries, including 50 stores and other outlets in the UK.
